The Community Reformed Church is the home of a growing labyrinth ministry founded and facilitated by our pastor, the Rev. Dr. Tim TenClay - who is a trained and certified labyrinth facilitator through Veriditas and an International Regional Representative for The Labyrinth Society.
Labyrinths are, fundamentally, nothing more than long paths wrapped up into a small, safe space. People have been using them for over four millennia. Unlike mazes, there are no dead-ends and no tricks. There is a single pathway that takes you to the center and out from it.
Labyrinths have been used by many cultures and many traditions for many reasons – they are not uniquely Christian, but they have been uniquely embraced by the Christian faith as a helpful tool to facilitate prayer and meditation.
The Community Reformed Church has offered open labyrinth walks for All Saints Day since 2019 - in 2020 we created a large, outdoor labyrinth that was available 24-hours a day.
In 2021, we will be offering a variety of labyrinth-based opportunities (including for World Labyrinth Day on May 1.
